Susan Jeffers first wrote ‘Feel the fear and do it anyway’ in 1987. Now considered a classic and available in over 100 countries and 30 languages, it’s clear she has tapped into a universal theme!
One of the things that I have been afraid of is starting this ExtraordinaryNews. Writing is not my forte… I need to work out how to operate the software… I didn’t have a name for it… And of course there were lots of other competing priorities to take my attention and time. (Are any of these delaying tactics familiar to you?)
Then I faced my truth. I admitted I was afraid. Susan Jeffer’s second Truth about fear says ‘The only way to get rid of the fear of doing something is to go out … and do it.’
So here it is. My first ExtraordinaryNews. I have felt the fear and done it anyway!
Where has fear limited your leadership in the past? And now?
Susan Jeffer’s other four truths about fear are:
1 The fear will never go away as long as I continue to grow.
3 The only way to feel better about myself is to go out … and do it.
4 Not only am I going to experience fear whenever I’m on unfamiliar territory, but so is everyone else.
5 Pushing through fear is less frightening than living with the underlying fear that comes from a feeling of helplessness.
What are you afraid of that’s stopping you living your Extraordinary Future? Where in your life do you need to feel the fear and do it anyway?
