My Christmas blog is one that I look forward to writing, and based on your feedback many of you enjoy receiving it. What does everyone leader need as they navigate to the end of 2024? Here is my carefully curated selection of Christmas wishes just for you.
Candy Cane Feedback. The red candy represents feedback from others—insights that can be hard to see yourself. The white candy is your ability to embrace feedback, trusting in your own uniqueness while deciding how to respond.
The Courage of Rudolf. The courage to learn from failure, return from disasters, and maintain belief that you can do better next time. The courage to learn in public and model the vulnerability required for others.
Santa’s Mindset of Ease. Father Christmas doesn’t seem to stress about the expectations on him! Maybe we can learn from his mindset. There is so much angst in our personal and professional worlds, and two simple questions that help me shift my mindset are ‘What would this look like if it flowed with ease?’ and ‘What mindset will facilitate a day that flows with ease?’
The Mischief of the Elf on the Shelf. Silent nights, peace on earth, and restful breaks are all well and good – I support them… AND we all need a little bit of mischief, in whatever form that comes for you!
An Empty Santa Sack. This one’s important. Dump into it (or place carefully if that’s your preference!) all those things you haven’t got done, the judgements you’ve made about yourself and other people, the skills you planned to work on…. If you really need them, you can get them out again in 2025. And if not, Santa will magic them away for you.
These leadership gifts are small reminders to reflect, recharge, and step into 2025 with courage, ease, and joy.
