‘You can’t direct without a good crew’, according to American comedian, writer and director Louis C. K. We could extend that to ‘You can’t lead without a good crew’.

When you surround yourself with people who support you and who bring out the best in you – both personally and professionally – Fearless Leadership is possible.

Your support crew could include:

Boss – Recently I heard a great talk by Ann Rolf, Australia’s most published author on mentoring. She maintains that ‘great leaders bring out the greatness in others’. Is your leader brining out the best in you? Are you bringing out the best in others?

Team – Build a team of good people and get out of their way so they can do their job.

Coaches and mentors – People without a vested interest in the outcome, who will tell you the hard truths and then support you to do something about that.

Family and friends –  I couldn’t do what I do without the support and encouragement of my husband and family.

Community – A tribe that shares similar values and goals, and challenges you to greater heights. A tribe I draw inspiration from is Thought Leaders Business School. G link to http://www.tlbusinessschool.com/

Contrasts – Your ‘contrasts’ might fit into any of the groups above… People who challenge your ideas, push your thinking, and encourage you to take an alternative perspective.

Child Care – As a working parent, the child-care component of my support crew is critical.

Pet – It seems that there is some science behind the view that that owners look like their dogs! Support comes in all shapes and sizes.

Who’s missing in your support crew?  Would love to hear your thoughts on who could be in your support crew here.

Have an Extraordinary day.
